THE SIGNAL BEHIND THE LIST
Popularity, with context.
Rising
We compare the median reported audience from the latest three minutes with samples from 12–15 minutes ago. A broadcast needs at least two samples in each window, a starting median of 20 viewers, and growth of at least 10 viewers. We rank by percentage growth, then audience gained, then current audience.
Growth history tracks up to 200 broadcasts per refresh. History belongs to one broadcast. Restarted streams begin again. Hidden counts, missing counts, stale results and insufficient history are excluded. A quiet ranking can mean no qualifying growth.
Most watched and Just started
Most watched orders tracked streams by available concurrent viewers. Just started uses platform start times. Platforms measure audiences differently; these are reported figures, not independently audited people.
What we cover
Connected feeds sample up to 500 Twitch broadcasts and 1,000 Kick broadcasts across languages, plus dedicated pool-category requests. Twitch returns popular streams; Kick’s discovery endpoint orders by start time. This is a ranking of the tracked sample, not a platform-wide leaderboard. Owncast adds independent broadcasts and does not provide viewer counts.
While a visitor has the page open, the site requests new data every minute. Rising needs approximately 15 minutes of observations. Continuous background monitoring is not enabled. Twitch and Kick results expire after 90 seconds; Owncast directory heartbeats can lag by up to six minutes. Provider failures hide expired live claims.
Live directories and channel pages
Directory pages such as Live on Kick and Small streamers list the same tracked sample. Pool, hot-tub and gambling categories are left out of those pages. Small means a reported audience under 100; hidden counts are never assumed to be small.
A Twitch or Kick channel gets its own page once we see a broadcast with at least 10 viewers. Its history covers only the moments our sampler saw the channel live: last seen, broadcasts observed, largest and typical audience. These are observations, not complete platform statistics. Bios and links marked as coming from the streamer were written by a member who signed in with that platform account.
Your recommendations
For you matches available live categories to the interests in your account. The directory below includes sourced creator profiles whose current live status may be unknown. Save keeps a creator in your private collection; it does not follow their social account.
Independent rankings
Pro charges for self-service research tools. Payment does not buy a Rising position. Any future advertising or paid placement will be labeled Ad or Sponsored and kept separate from organic rankings.
